Modeling of Degradation Processes in Historical Mortars
نویسنده
چکیده
The aim of presented paper is modeling of degradation processes in historical mortars exposed to moisture impact during freezing. Internal damage caused by ice crystallization in pores is one of the most important factors limiting the service life of historical structures. Coupling the transport processes with the mechanical part will allow us to address the impact of moisture on the durability, strength and stiffness of mortars. This should be accomplished with the help of a complex thermo∗Corresponding author. Tel. +420 224 354 495; fax: +420 224 310 775. E-mail address: [email protected]

Kinetic modeling on photo oxidative degradation of C.I acid yellow 23 by UV/H_2 O_2 process
The kinetic of photo oxidative decolorization of C.I. Acid yellow 23 (AY23) was investigated in UV/ process. The semi-logarithmic of the concentrations of AY23 versus irradiation time were linear, suggesting pseudo-first order reaction. A simple kinetic model is proposed which confirms pseudo- first order reaction. The results indicate that the apparent reaction rate constant is a function of l...

In this paper the bituminous water proof mortar, which has been used between the bricks in the Achaemenes monument of Tall-e-Ajori in Persepolis, has been analyzed by different instrumental chemical analysis methods, such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X ray diffraction (XRD and X ray florescence spectroscopies (XRF). Moreover, due to identifying the chemical structure and e...

متن کاملA Functional Time Warping Approach to Modeling and Monitoring Truncated Degradation Signals
Degradation signals are sensor-based signals that are correlated with degradation processes of engineering components. In this paper, we present a flexible modeling framework for characterizing degradation signals that can only be observed up to a prespecified failure threshold. The underlying assumption of this framework is that the engineering components degrade according to a similar trend, ...
متن کاملInvestigation of UV/TiO2-N photocatalytic degradation of AR 40 using response surface methodology (RSM)
Introduction: Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) suggest a highly reactive, nonspecific oxidant namely hydroxyl radical (OH•), that oxidize a wide range of pollutants fast and non-selective in wastewater and water. Materials and methods: In this work, the nitrogen-doped titanium dioxide nanoparticles were primed by sol-gel method, characterized by X-ray diffraction and Scanning Elect...
